You may be slightly surprised to hear that people have paid up to 25 million for a watch or over 1 million for a bikini set; the truth is that the most expensive items in the female fashion world, and we mean extremely expensive, may be ridiculously priced, but they are indeed real and have been bought. Here we look at some of the most expensive items ever sold in the female fashion industry:
The 201-Carat Chopard Watch. Currently the world's most expensive female fashion item is the $25 million Chopard watch, composed of more than 600 coloured heart-shaped diamonds and 91 colourless diamonds. You can just about see the clock's face from the huge cluster of diamonds and gold. Incidentally, watches can be some of the most expensive items in the fashion industry as they can be easily customised with high-end minerals, diamonds and expensive stones.
The House of Harry Winston's Ruby Slippers make it next in the list, made out of none other than 4, 600 ruby stones and selling at a massive $3 million. These kind of ruby shoes definitely aren't commonly found in most shops which is why they sold at such a high price: they were the only kind in the world. It definitely isn't surprising to find a set of shoes that smash price listings; many people will easily pay over a million for shoes with that designer name and a few real diamonds.
Hermes Birkin Bag. The Hermes Birkin Bag by designer Ginza Tanakan sold at a massive 1.9 million. The handbag, made out of platinum with over 2, 000 diamonds, is designed to be versatile to the owner's liking - for example you can remove part of the bag's diamond strap and wear it as a necklace. Handbags can easily mount to the top of the price range for fashionable items because of the materials they are made from and it definitely isn't hard to find handbags that fit well over the hundred thousand price range.
Red Hot 'Fantasy Bra and Panties.' These are the world's most expensive set of lingerie, made from 1, 300 precious stones and 300 carats of Thai rubies. Again, the precious stones helped it rank up to the top of price listing, but there is a long list of lingerie that can put a black hole in your credit card (even at half price). The 'Red Hot' lingerie set in this case retailed at $15 million.
